Create BCEAO Trial Balance as XML file

BCEAO requires that all member countries report their Trail Balance in an XML format file.

Note that to run the BCEAO reports you have to use a BCEAO Chart of Accounts. You can set Loan Performer to use the BCEAO Chart of Account when you are configuring it for the first use at System->Configuration->Accounting->Accounts Settings. If you are already using a different Chart of Accounts you can still replace it with the BCEAO Chart of Accounts at Tools->Replace Chart of Accounts so as to be consistent with BCEAO reporting requirements.

How to create the BCEAO trial balance as an XML File

To create the BCEAO trial balance you go to Accounts->Regulatory Reports->BCEAO Reports->Create Trail Balance as XML file and a window will be displayed as follows:

• From Date ............. till Date ...........: From the drop down box, select the date when the trial balance report will start, e.g., "01/01/2010" and in till Date drop down box select the date when the trial balance report will end e.g., "23/04/2014".

BCEAO requires that the trial balance is reported with 4, 6 or 8 columns. From the radio options, select the number of columns that your trial balance will display., e.g., "Trial Balance with 4 columns".

Click on the Save button to save the Trial Balance in the required XML format in a specified place.

Note that it is the saved trial balance in the XML file format that will be forwarded to BCEAO and will be used to import your organisation's financial data into the BCEAO database. You will also be able to view the balance sheet and expense statement extract at Accounts->Regulatory Reports->BCEAO Report->Generate BCEAO Reports.
